We are part of Church of God World Wide Mission International. There are other branches throughout the UK and abroad.
This branch, based in High Wycombe, launched in August 2004 is led by Pastor Dawn McDowall. We are a Pentecostal church and believe in the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
The ethos of our church is LOVE which stands for: Love Openly Values Everyone. Therefore, our doors are open to everybody regardless of ethnicity or social background.
High Wycombe & District Beekeepers’ Association is a thriving group of enthusiastic beekeepers from all walks of life founded in 1944 to promote bees and beekeeping. We hold monthly evening meetings with a visiting speaker at Trinity Church, London Road, High Wycombe. These meetings are open to all, so if you’re interested in taking up beekeeping or even just curious, why not come along? They take place on the last Friday of each month, from September to May (not December), starting at 7.30pm. For members, we also hold monthly “Developing your beekeeping” meetings, training courses, practical sessions at our own apiary, and specialist days of interest. A beginners’ beekeeping course is held each spring. Contact email@example.com
The Movers & Shakers Caribbean Style group continues to thrive at Trinity. Meetings take place weekly on a Friday from 10 am to 1.30 pm in the sanctuary, with lunch in the lower meeting room. Activities such as crochet, knitting, making cards and other paper goods such as decorations are popular. The exercise part of the session runs from 11 am to 12 noon, with either jazzercise, zumba, yoga, or tai’ chi style exercise, which is relaxing and invigorating at the same time. There is much fun and laughter and the music gets us movin’ and shakin’. All the exercises can be chair-based or standing, and it is interesting to observe that almost everyone now stands up for the exercise, such is the benefit of the programme.
We then have a 15 -20 minute talk on a subject relating to health and well-being, followed by lunch which has been prepared by some of the group on a rota. The cost of a session is £4 – great value for money!
We have a monthly committee meeting where we plan our programme for the coming weeks and all are welcome to join the group. Why don’t you give it a try?
This group started in June 2010, and is the natural extension of the Caribbean group. The Chinese association in Wycombe played a major part in the start up, encouraging their members to come along on a Tuesday morning.
An hour of exercise (Tai Chi) is followed by an hour of craft and health information, and the morning ends with a lunch prepared by volunteers within the group.
For the autumn term, we had 13 weeks of craft training, sponsored by the Bucks County Council. For January to April this year we have a programme of health lectures, craft sessions and practical first aid, to stimulate and inform us. An excellent session on Dementia raised so many questions we are repeating the session again in March. We were featured on Bucks TV in August, promoting “Bucks Reactivate” which encourages all ages to keep fit.
The Chinese population in Wycombe is not as large as the Caribbean one, and this is reflected in the numbers attending Tuesday mornings. On average we have about 20 per session although we have many more on the register that could attend if they were available. About 25% of our group are English or European.
This congregation has been meeting at Trinity for over 60 years. They meet for worship, held in the Polish language, on the first Sunday of the month at 3 pm.
